Annual event “Autumn Exhibition 2016” was opened in People’s House of Kirillov on August 23

The first stage of the event is notable for the fact that both professional artists and children and just people who are interested in art and have some creative works demonstrate them in the open plain. Every participant of the project can choose any place for exhibiting his or her works: a haystack, a fence or a wall of the house that is being built now. It has become a tradition to hold the first stage of the exhibition in the village of Dyakonovskaya in the outskirts of Ferapontovo and the second stage – in Ferapontovo itself.

M.N. Sharomazov, director of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, noted in his welcome speech, “This year’s autumn display has been opened not in Ferapontovo, but in the People’s House. It allowed us to present more works and more artists have a chance to exhibit their creative activity”.

The works of 46 artists are being displayed in four halls of the People’s House. The exhibition impresses visitors with its diversity. It is exceptional because it is inspired.

Visitors can see wonderful landscapes, still lifes, and scenes of village life. The display is also notable because you can also see earthenware, textile panels, carved articles, sculptures, and listen to poems and music compositions. All artists tried to express what they felt.  

“In future, the second stage of this display will be probably changed and will turn into a conference. We would like to involve all creative people of the Kirillov district and everybody who is connected with the history of the region”, pointed out L.A. Lupushor, deputy director of development and exhibition work.

The museum thanks all artists for their talent and help in the organization of this display.

The autumn exhibition will be open till September 18.
