“Cabbage Gatherings” in kindergarten
November 30, 2016
The museum employees told kids about Russian folk holidays and cabbage. Cabbage was the most favourite vegetable in Russia. It was even called “the first lady of the village”. By tradition, cabbage was the last vegetable that was harvested in the kitchen garden. Then people soured it.
During the interactive lesson, boys and girls took part in all stages of souring using only ancient tools and household articles. The gatherings were concluded with an unusual snack with boiled potatoes and cabbage salad.
