Changes in Public Council of Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve

The meeting of the Public Council of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve was held in the conference hall on May 17, 2017. They re-elected the chairman and changed the members of the council, and outlined development ways of the museum.

The Public Council of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve was established two years ago. It means that (according to the Statute of the Public Council) it was time to rotate the members of the council and to re-elect its chairman. M.N. Sharomazov, director of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, opened the meeting of the Public Council, “The first two years of our work were fruitful. We have discussed some issues connected with development prospects of the complex that both the museum and the region face. We have decided in which direction we are to move in further improvement of our work on the attraction of visitors. Now we will also have to fulfill some important tasks. As you know there are some changes in the council work. I suggest increasing the number of members from 30 to 33 and re-electing a new chairman”.

The chairperson of the Public Council of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve was elected unanimously. Everybody voted for O.A. Vasiliev, Deputy Governor of the Vologda Region. L.G. Yacheistova, chairperson of the Committee on Education, Culture and Public Health in the Vologda Region Legislative Assembly, and M.N. Sharomazov, director of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, became his deputies. S.M. Sharomazova, scientific secretary of the museum, was appointed a secretary of the Public Council.

The meeting started with an award ceremony of the director of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve! S.G. Nikeshin, member of the Public Council, gave a medal of the pilot Alexander Fyodorovich Klubov, double Hero of the Soviet Union, to M.N. Sharomazov on behalf of the Vologda Friendly Association in Moscow.

The members of the Public Council - Galina Telegina, president of the Vologda Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Igor Stepanov, adviser of the Vologda Region Governor and member of the Public Chamber of the Vologda Region; Anatoly Myalkin, deputy chairman of the Public Chamber of the Vologda Region, chairman of the Commission on State and Legal Activity and Security Problems of Citizens; Sergey Kulikov, chief architect of the Federal State Budgetary Unitary Enterprise “Central Scientific and Restoration Design Workshops”; Natalya Pyankova, chief architect of projects in the LLC “Valbek-ru”; Sergey Usov, head of the Kirillov district; Sergey Nikeshin, member of the Vologda Friendly Association in Moscow; A.V. Yulin, deputy head of the Kirillov District Administration; A.N. Tyulyandin, head of the Ferapontovo rural settlement; E.M. Kaparulina, director of the Vologda Regional College of Culture and Tourism; Father Superior of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery Anastasy – took an active part in the discussion of issues of the agenda.

One of the main subjects was presentation of the Interregional Historical and Cultural Tourist Project “Silver Necklace of Russia”. It was given by V.A. Osipovsky, head of the Department of Culture and Tourism in the Vologda Region.

S.B. Kulikov, chief architect of the Federal State Budgetary Unitary Enterprise “Central Scientific and Restoration Design Workshops”, introduced scientific design documentation regarding inclusion of the grounds of the Kirillo-Belozersky Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve to the list of the cultural heritage site of federal importance.

O.V. Voronicheva, deputy director on restoration in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, presented the concept of the open air museum “Museum of Rural Priest at Tsypino”.

The meeting of the Public Council resulted in the decision of May 17, 2017. It is to be executed till September 1, 2017. The members of the council recommend: O.A. Vasiliev, Deputy Governor of the Vologda Region, to explore the question about construction of a public road from Ferapontovo to Beloussovo; A.N. Tyulyandin, head of the Ferapontovo rural settlement, to settle an issue concerning provision of a plot of land near Ilyinskoye Lake to the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve; S.V. Usov, head of the Kirillov district, to elaborate a complex of measures to activate work on the promotion of the project “Silver Necklace of Russia”.
