Decade of disabled persons began in Vologda region
From December 1 to 10, 2016
A number of events for disabled people, inmates of the social centre, patients of the mental hospital in Pustyn and members of the Society of the Disabled and the Blind were organized in the museum within the framework of this decade. Their list includes tours, various master-classes, concerts, creative lessons, playing and educational programs.
The tour of the exhibition about the professional work of fine art restorer Olga Sokolova staged in the People’s House was conduced for members of the Society of the Disabled and the Blind on December 1.
According to the information posted on the website of the Vologda Region Government, over 111,5 thousand disabled people, including 4,5thousand children, live in the Vologda region at present.
The disabled people live next to us sometimes providing examples for imitation when their fortitude is stronger than their physical disabilities.
To give a helping hand to the disabled is one of the high-priority tasks of our society today.
The annual decade of disabled people is the action that is addressed to us, to the whole society. We mustn’t forget about those who need our care and support and should warm other people’s hearts with kindness!
