Employees of Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve participated in 15th Interregional Exhibition of Tourist Service and Hospitality Technologies “Gates to the North”

Leading specialists in tourist service, representatives of specialized educational institutions and organizations, museum employees, craftsmen of the North-West of Russia gathered in the exhibition centre “Russky Dom” to take part in this large forum. 11 regions of the Northwestern Federal District presented their exhibitions there. The central position was occupied by the Vologda region and 8 municipal formations of the region that “Silver Necklace of Russia” embraced. This project unites over 400 interregional tourist routes with the unique sights of the Russian North, including the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve and the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes.

By tradition, tourist potential of the region was introduced at the event. Participants discussed development issues of tourism and hospitality service infrastructure, improvement of the service level. Specialists of the branch shared experience and took part in workshops and trainings.

T.A. Panina, L.N. Akimova and T.V. Usova, employees of the Department of Visitor Relations, introduced photos and printed sources telling about the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve and the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes.

Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov went to see the exhibition ground of the museum representatives from Kirillov. They gave him the book “Through the Veil of Five Centuries” – the author’s album of art photography of Yuri Kholdin presenting compositions of the fresco painting in the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral created by Dionisy, great icon-painter of the second half of the 15th century.

The participants determined possible ways of efficient cooperation of all public authorities, travel industry, scientific and public organizations, new development directions and promotion of the tourist project “Silver Necklace of Russia” within the framework of the 15th Interregional Exhibition of Tourist Service and Hospitality Technologies “Gates to the North”.
