Festival “Kirillo-Belozersky Siege” is among best Russia’s military and patriotic festivals again

From May 28 to 29, 2016

22 festivals, including the Festival of Historical Reenactment “Kirillo-Belozersky Siege”, were named the best by the jury.

As a result, the Festival of Historical Reenactment “Kirillo-Belozersky Siege” will be granted 400 thousand rubles for organization of the interactive grounds of the military historical camp.

It is worth reminding that the Festival of Historical Reenactment “Kirillo-Belozersky Siege” has been held in the museum since 2009. Its organizers are the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, the Centre of Historical Projects “Valour of Epochs” with the assistance of the Russian Military Historical Society.

We invite everybody who wants to get to the military actions of the Time of Troubles to come to Kirillov on May 28 and 29. Guests of the festival will see a new variant of the reenactment of the battle between Russian soldiers and Polish and Lithuanian invaders.

By tradition, guests will see exhibition performances of the clubs, a historical parade of cavaliers and dismounted warriors, equestrian contests.

Some interactive grounds will be open from May 28 to 29: a military field camp of the Russian soldiers, schools in ancient Russia, an equestrian ground, a children’s fencing ground. Guests of the museum will be able to attend a historical fair, to take part in medieval amusements and games, to see the photo display “Kirillo-Belozersky Siege” (on the galleries of the fortifications) and the exhibition “Military Valour of Centuries” in the Vologda Tower. A concert of authentic and spiritual medieval music will take place in the evening on May 28.
