The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet consists of Gonzalo Bergara on lead guitar, Robert O’Rourke on rhythm guitar, Leah Zeger on violin, and PJ Wyderka on upright bass.
The gipsy jazz melodies performed by the music band from California couldn’t leave anybody cold. About 400 residents and guests of the town became familiar with American music in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve.
Gipsy jazz is a new direction in the festival repertoire. Besides, spectators listened to some compositions in such styles as bluegrass, blues, Conjunto and zydeco.
At the end of the concert that lasted for two hours, the delighted audience thanked the musicians for their wonderful performance, gave them flowers and greeted with applause.
Museum guest Natalya Shasherina shared her opinion about the event, “We have had a great time spending the weekend in the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery with our friends. Old Russian architecture in combination with gipsy jazz of the Gonzalo Bergara Quartet. It was wonderful!”
The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve expresses gratitude to Natalya Shasherina for the pictures taken during the event.
