Maslenitsa in museum
Residents and guests of Kirillov celebrated Maslenitsa or Butter (Pancake) Week in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve on February 25.

Over 2000 guests joined in the celebrations. The entertainment program included fistfights, storming of a snow fortress, a traditional tug-of-war contest, a contest of snow figures, a concert, inflatable amusement rides and plenty of activities on different playgrounds. A charitable lottery was organized within the framework of the holiday. The State Song and Dance Ensemble “Russian North”, the Fist Fighting Artel “Busa” and students of the Vologda Regional College of Culture and Tourism performed for the guests. Besides, there was a fair where everybody could taste pancakes and hot tea.
