Meeting with actor of Taganka Theatre, Russia’s Honoured Artist Alexander Tsurkan became key event of Art Festival “The Property of Republic”

Performing on the stage of the conference hall, Alexander Tsurkan recited the verse of Vologda’s poet Nikolay Rubtsov, sang songs composed to the verse of N. Rubtsov and V. Vysotsky. Besides, the artist told the audience about the creative activity of N. Dmitriev and N. Melnikov.  

During the meeting, Alexander Tsurkan reported about his trip to Syria in July 2016 where he performed for Russian soldiers and was awarded the medal “For Struggle with International Terrorism” for it.

“I am delighted to be in the place where the Russian statehood was formed”, noted Alexander Tsurkan. “Kirillov is the town of valour, honour, warrior host, wisdom and certainly the town of prayer, the town of connection with Jesus Christ, the town where this sacred monastery – the great fortress – was constructed”.

The spectators communicated with the artist, laughed, made fun and even cried during two hours and a half.

Alexander Tsurkan developed the creative dialogue with the audience reflecting on the most important, about the things that were the integral part of our Russian life, about our great word, Orthodox belief and Russian warriors.

The delighted guests lapped up every word he said and sang. At the end of the event, they gave a standing ovation to the famous artist.

Moreover, the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve joined the All-Russian action “Night of Cinema” on that day. It was organized for the first time in our country. The film “Crimson Colour of the Snowfall” directed by Vladimir Motyl was screened within the framework of the action. This movie became the last will of the outstanding Russian film director. Leading man Alexander Tsurkan told the spectators about the history of its creation and interesting moments of the shooting process. The presentation of the film was held in the conference hall of the museum and on a large screen of the main museum stage in the New Town.
