Museum employees celebrate 620th anniversary of Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery foundation with events
Who founded the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery, what cathedral was built there first, how many hours did Peter I spend in the monastery? Pupils of the Kirillov School answered all these questions correctly.
This year marks the 620th anniversary of the foundation of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery. A number of events will be held in the museum in 2017 on the occasion of this date.
The contests of drawings, essays, photo and video works timed to this memorable date were announced for pupils of the educational institutions in the Kirillov district on April 1.
The educational quiz “Keeps the Traces of History…” was organized for sixth-formers of the Kirillov Secondary School named after Hero of the Soviet Union A.G. Obukhov (form teacher T.N. Kotyasheva) on April 27, 2017.
Two teams “Bogatyrs” and “Knights” participated in the game. They fulfilled different tasks showing good knowledge of the monastery history that had been closely connected with the history of the country, unique architecture of the monastery, its role as an important economic and religious centre of the Belozersk district.
As a result, the team “Bogatyrs” (captain D. Serov) won an edge. Students of the Vologda Regional College of Culture and Tourism under the direction of V.L. Nuzhina, old friend of the museum, deputy director of practical education, prepared and hold this interesting quiz with the consulting and practical assistance of the museum employees.
