Severstal hockey player visited Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve!

Actors, musicians, singers, spacemen, philosophers and philologists… Very interesting people often come to the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve. They are united with one thing – love for history.

People noticed unusual young men on whom four cameras were directed at once. These strong and tall men walked along Cathedral Square attracting no less attention than the sites of the museum.

“They are hockey players of “Severstal”. Now they are completing their pre-season training for the 2017/2018 Kontinental Hockey League that is due to start for the sportsmen of Cherepovets on August 22 with an away-game”, said Alyona Shilova, press-secretary of the Hockey Club “Severstal”.

The international hockey players of “Severstal” visited the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve on August 9. “We could come on this very day because it wasn’t as busy as all the rest”, they admitted.

After the morning training, goaltender Július Hudáček, defenceman Adam Masuhr and forwards Matej Stransky and Petr Holik went to see the Tsar’s Fortress.

Thanks to their comments, we can judge whether the hockey players liked the tour in the course of which they enjoyed wonderful views from the Bell-Tower, tasted “monastery” dished in the café, went to the churches of the monastery and visited the exhibitions of the museum-reserve.

Adam Masuhr shared his impressions with us, “It is amazing what a beautiful place it is! I liked the grounds of the monastery very much. It is worth visiting such a place. It seems to me that everybody should known under what difficult conditions people lived before. During the season, my relatives and friends will come to me and I will certainly advise them to visit this monastery”.

Július Hudáček expressed his opinion about the visit to the Kirillo-Belozersky Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve, “I like the tour very much. The monastery itself is very ancient; it is located on the shore of a beautiful lake. I was impressed with the guide’s talk about monks’ life. We saw books, icons and other household articles at the museum. I was surprised at the fact they many of them were beautifully and richly decorated. I didn’t know that there is such a place not far from Cherepovets. We had a good time here”.

The hockey players spent several hours in the museum-reserve. During this time, they could not only take a journey into the history, but also admire wonderful views, buy souvenirs, and decide that they should certainly return to Kirillov with their relatives.

Goaltender Július Hudáček, defenceman Adam Masuhr and forwards Matej Stransky and Petr Holik were delighted with the tour of the museum-reserve.
