World’s best musicians organized “expedition” in Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve!

The worldwide famous musicians showed the audience of Kirillov that the Musical Expedition Festival was energy, life and feeling of liberty! Every participant of the musical festival that would be continued in Cherepovets, Ustyuzhna and the Babaevo district felt free and active for a new breath, step and spurt.
After the concert of the classical stars in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, the words “Musical Expedition” began to sound in an absolutely new light, were filled with fresh colours and got… a form! “It is our first open-air concert within the framework of the festival in 2017”, admitted Dmitry Illarionov, Russian musician, classical guitarist, winner of the Grand Prix of the largest classical guitar contest “Guitar Foundation of America”, nominee of the long list of the Grammy Award. “The concert in Vologda took place in the Philharmonic Society – the weather changed our plans. We are first performing in the open air here, in Kirillov, within the walls of the cultural and historical monument. Today people will be able to estimate the works that you can hear only coming to London, Paris, St. Petersburg… We would like to express gratitude to everybody thanks to whom it has become possible: the Vologda Regional Philharmonic Society named after V.A. Gavrilin, the Vologda Region Government, the musicians and certainly spectators for whom we designed all this!”
The Musical Expedition Festival that originated in the Vladimir region has already elicited response from the audience. It has been held for the fourth time and its geography is always different. It is first taking place in the Vologda region. The list of participants changes sometimes. The head of the “expedition” - famous violinist, Honoured Artist of Russia Boris Andrianov – chooses the most outstanding musicians. “My friends have come with me today”, he said walking out on the stage of the New Town in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve. “Ilya Konovalov has especially come from Tel Aviv where he lives for many years and is a leader of the orchestra in the Israel Philharmonic Society. We have just drawn him out between the programs. Philipp Kopachevsky is a wonderful Russian pianist, graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory, laureate of plenty of contests. Today he is performing here, the day after tomorrow – in Ustyuzhna, and tomorrow – in Finland.
A great friend of mine and my stage partner - guitarist Dmitry Illarionov – is taking part in the Musical Expedition Festival. He is a world champion of various guitar contests! Violist Timur Yakubov, concertmaster of the viola group in the Hague Symphony Orchestra, is also here today. He lives in Europe for many years and has come to us between the concert programs. Belgian violinist Leonard Schreiber has come from London. He is a great soloist! He performs in all halls playing the ancient Italian instrument made by Alessandro Mezzadri in 1710 and presenting a lot of chamber music”.
Each of them is a master! Everybody is a professional! They don’t play – they live on the stage! “If you a world-class musician, you must be prepared. We constantly perform and rehearse. You must prove with your work every day that you hold the bar high and don’t slow down”, noted the artists. “The Musical Expedition Festival is a festival of high music held in rather unusual places – in the historical and architectural setting. We have been to many places, but here, in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, when you see all its mighty and touch the history of our country, you feel in a special way and it certainly leaves its stamp on how we play”.
Open with their hearts and souls to the whole world, they charmed the audience with their performance. People don’t just listen to the famous musicians who presented the works of Russian and foreign composers… They seemed to follow each movement of them. They saw their character, temperament, manner and expression! And the musicians played without effort enjoying every moment of revelation that emerged between the spectators and the artists, feeling that they were understood here!
